Hello Readers and Writers,
Today, I’m a guest blogger on Thonie Hevron’s blog, “Just the Facts, Ma’am.”
In my guest post, I discuss two topics and include specific items for success.
1. Who Should NOT join a Writers’ Critique group?
2. The #1 thing to do in Your Writers’ Group
to ALL Become Better writers?
Writing on this topic for the first time gave me much to chew on. I revised four times, and even cut my 3rd draft in half. After cutting, it grew again to about 1.300-words!
Wow. Turns out I had a lot to say.
If you read this blog, you know I’m not usually verbose.
After benefiting from two successful and long-running critique groups, I had far more to say than I ever dreamed. I even included three cautions for those who have never been in such a group before. I boiled down single essential element I felt helped myself and dozens of other writers who worked in the group with me. Each time I helped to start or organize a critique group I repeated that recipe for success.
If you have not had the pleasure of reading Thonie Hevron’s blog, “JUST THE FACTS, MA’AM,” and you love thrillers, mysteries and crime fiction go visit now. She retired from her career in the police force so she knows her stuff. I met Hevron in our Redwood Writers Club. We have never had the pleasure of sharing a critique group-yet.

Thonie and I would both appreciate if you find this post helpful to share it.
Perhaps start a conversation by quoting some of my points on your blog or Facebook page.
