Sunset on the Water Looking North
The nature of wonder never leaves for long. A sunrise or sunset stops us in our tracks. A dog falls asleep in a perfect nose to tail circle. All of these and more fill us with joy and peace.
A Day of Rest to Refresh Beauty in our Eyes
Every month or so we catch a boat into the City to walk about and visit the farmers’ market in the San Francisco Ferry Building. A short trip brimming with the romance of the Bay and an old tradition of crossing water by shared watertight vessels.
We happened to pick an nearly deserted trip home. Such a perfect time for lovers, a pair were kissing on a bench facing the dock. Also, an excellent hour, after 6 p.m. on the next to last ferry of the weekend, for framing sunset photographs of the Golden Gate Bridge. (Note: this bay crossing happened in March 2018.)
My mother, Evelyn French, worked in San Francisco as a young adult. She has fine memories of her time working for Pacific Bell Telephone Company. Therefore, I equate the City with highhopes for new life and a heady sense of freedom. I love leaving at sunset because all the lights come on, and the skyline stands out in sharper form.
In an effort to raise our blog viewership, we will participate in a weekly photo challenge on Wednesdays. Please see a sample of our Write Monday posts, Story Start. Best place to begin reading our dog blog topics, Unchange Dogs Blog for the Change.

Beautiful postcards from a beautiful city!
And a paradise for dog lovers I think. From my morning walks in the city, the three days I was there a few years back, I most vividly remember stopping every so often to greet a dog or pet a puppy and then ending up having short but pleasant conversations with their owners, almost made me feel like I belong there 😀
If I ever find myself in the city again, I would love to be at this dock at sun set!

So you have visited “The City” or “The City by the Bay”! So sweet that you were made welcome by the dog lovers. That makes me happy as that is my experience too. I enjoy photography and take hundreds for this blog. 😀
Do you take all the pics on your blog?

Thanks for leaving a comment. Glad you enjoyed the photos. I have more from that day that would make another story. Yes, my mom can from a farming family so The City offered her more than she could have imagined.

Wow. I have never seen that album. Got to get her to tell a few stories to share with grandkids.
