Saw a sign in front of a local pet store, it said.
We love puppies that is why we don’t sell them.
Go visit my blog pal, Debra Levy at C-Dog and Company. She has two very good posts on why 99% of pet store puppies are from puppy mills.

Please pass this on. Share it, copy and paste it.
You have my permission!
Thanks, Deborah! Looking forward to working with you on our “campaign” to stop puppy mills!

My blog pal Deborah over at Dog Leader Mysteries thought it would be a good idea if we really promoted a “say no to puppy mills” message this weekend, and I agree — it’s a very, very important message. So here’s Deborah’s Photo Friday contribution, and she’ll have more to say throughout the weekend. My final blog post on the subject will be on Monday. Please, read Deborah and my messages and pass along to as many folks as you know. Wouldn’t it be great if we can push the movement along to “say no to puppy mills”?
Woooohooowooooo! No puppy mills, and I know, I grew up in one! Ku
Tell us more Ku! Where did your puppy grow up?
Here is the About page on my bloggy: http://haikubyku.com/about/
Woooooowooooooooo, Ku
Thanks for your reply & the link. I see you adopted three amazing Alaskan Malamutes through animal rescue efforts. I love meeting other pet adopters.
I’ve adopted and raised three dogs + and four rabbits from animal shelters. As you can see I believe in spreading the words “Adopt. Don’t Shop.”
I so agree with this! I don’t have any problem with people deciding to purchase a dog rather than adopt. I just wish people were more knowledgeable and more careful about where they purchase them from. Even though puppy mill dogs need good homes too, purchasing a dog from a puppy mill supports the breeders and encourages them to breed more. Report puppy mills, and buy from a responsible breeder… or my preferred option, adopt, don’t shop!
Thanks Dawn, I agree we should “adopt, don’t shop” because that saves millions of dogs’ lives. Please share Debra Levy’s C-Dog and Company post.
I am always glad to hear from you. Keep up the wonderful educating you do for your blogs readers about treating dogs humanely.
Even our local animal shelter director knew that 99% figure for pet shop pupies from puppy mills, yet didn’t know that in the USA dogs are legally classified as livestock.
Oh, I do get distracted. Sorry to miss you comment, working on a better version and title to say the same thing in a new way.
