Weekly Photo Challenge: Awakening
Not all wake-up moments turn out happily. Especially if you wake up a night owl. We have night owls in our family, some required extreme measures to wake up. Not fun. Want to stand at the foot of a bed and squirt cold water on bare arms, head, etc.? Not me. I run.
Dogs can be grumpy on awakening too.

I would never recommend waking up, Sydney. Sometimes we must. Dog parents know. Before we head to bed and shut off the lights, we wake him. He goes out. Sometimes, we watch him and make sure he has done (something). We have a potty word. So at times, I tell him, “Go potty.”
Teaching a dog to go on cue is handy when traveling or before loading a dog in a car. Where did I get this idea? Stanley Coren describes it in one of his dog books. I reviewed that book on this blog and refer to it often. You can fetch it at How to Speak Dog Mastering the Art of Dog-Human Communication.
